At Mila Earth, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. As a small company, we recognize that true sustainability is achieved through collaboration and continuous learning between us and our valued customers.
Our Practices
Recycling and Reusing:
We take great care in recycling and reusing all our bottles and containers. We wash them thoroughly for reuse, which sometimes means that our tins might look a bit banged up. This practice reduces waste and promotes the longevity of our packaging.
Innovative Reuse Ideas:
We encourage you to repurpose our Magnesium body butter tins as travel containers for our Amazing Magnesium, shampoo, and conditioner bars. Simply place a little cloth at the bottom for absorption, and you’ll find that your bars last much longer.
The Power of Community
The biggest impact we can make on the environment is by creating a community that shares knowledge, inspires change, and empowers people to make healthier choices. The stores are filled with products laden with toxins that harm our bodies and the environment. Through education and community events, we aim to guide you towards better choices.
Educational Events
We host free educational evenings to share our knowledge and encourage sustainable living. Join us this week on June 28 from 5 to 8 PM in North Vancouver. Additional sessions are scheduled for July 26 and August 23.
Small Changes, Big Impact
Environmental change comes from making small, strategic changes. Not everyone needs to do everything, but by empowering your friends, neighbors, and local businesses, we can collectively achieve a significant impact.
Supporting Local and Sustainable Practices
We source our products locally from companies that share our values. We also promote and deliver products from these businesses, saving on gas, paper, and plastic, and helping you save money.
Homemade Goodness
Making your own food and products can significantly reduce toxins and increase quality. For example:
Bread: Homemade bread avoids preservatives, and sourdough bread improves gluten digestion.
Fermented Foods: Making sauerkraut, kimchi, and other pickled vegetables enhances nutritional value and provides probiotics.
Dairy Products: Grass-fed milk can be used to make yogurt at home, providing high-quality probiotics.
Cleaning Products: Check our blog for recipes to make your own non-toxic cleaning products.
Fermented Garlic: Simply put peeled garlic in a mason jar with raw organic honey for a nutritious treat.
Seasonal and Local Produce
Buying organic, locally-sourced produce in season and preserving it ensures the highest nutritional density at the best prices. Fermenting and making jams are great ways to extend the life and benefits of your fruits and vegetables.
Independence and Creativity
By making more products at home, you gain independence from store-bought goods and can create a wide array of healthy, toxin-free items with basic ingredients. This fosters creativity and ensures better quality for you and your family.
