Magnesium Oil is magnesium chloride flakes dissolved in pure water. That's all. It feels silky, like an oil, sinks into your skin within a few minutes, and fits easily into your morning or evening routine. We make every bottle by hand in small batches in West Vancouver.

Why magnesium chloride?

For as long as humans have existed, we got our water from mountains, wells, creeks and glaciers, and those waters are naturally rich in minerals like magnesium. We bathed in that water, washed our dishes with it and watered our plants with it. On holidays we still go to hot springs and the sea, both rich in magnesium. Today, bathing in mineral water has become a holiday treat instead of part of everyday life. Magnesium Oil is my simple way of bringing that ritual back home.

Magnesium chloride is the same mineral salt you find in seawater and in many natural springs. It dissolves easily in water, which is why it makes such a light, silky spray.

How to Use Magnesium Oil

• Every day: spray 14 to 20 times on clean skin from the neck down, on your arms, legs, back and tummy, and smooth it in with your hands.
• In the evening: a lovely part of a calm wind-down routine.
• Before or after exercise: massage it into your legs, shoulders and anywhere that feels tight.
• Katerina's daily ritual: Magnesium Oil in the morning, Magnesium Body Butter at night, and a magnesium bath once a week or more.

Why does it tingle?
A tingle is very common, and it's not an allergic reaction. In my 20 years of making magnesium, I've found it's strongest when people first start. For most people it fades within 30 to 40 days of daily use. Some people notice it now and then in the areas where they hold tension, like the neck and shoulders. I see that as a gentle nudge to breathe, slow down and relax. Tip: skip freshly shaved or broken skin, and if you ever get a rash that doesn't settle, rinse it off and take a break.

No. "Magnesium oil" is magnesium chloride dissolved in water; it just feels silky, like an oil. It sinks in within a few minutes, and there's no need to rinse it off.

Which size should I buy?
If you use it daily, the 120 ml is better value per spray. The 50 ml is perfect for your bag or for trying it out.
